Project Description

Dizzyfish work with a whole range of different clients.  Here we present successful case studies on just a couple of them.

Projection and Audio Installation at Heriot’s Rugby Club

We began by discussed the upgrading of their two existing analogue projectors to high-definition versions.  We had two on-site meetings and then made a presentation to the committee members, illustrating to them what the new system would do.

The appraisal

We then carried out an initial system check with showed that they currently had an aged analogue system with Scart based sky inputs and a sound system linked to an iPod. The screens were 4:3 and the picture quality was washed out and grainy, providing a very poor image quality when it came to showcasing sporting events. The room being used for the display had lots of windows so was classed as a light intensive environment; when sunshine landed on the projected image, it disappeared.

The solution

We updated the system with a 5000 lumens projector that would operate effectively, even in harsh sunlight.  Adding two 55″ flat screens in the upstairs and downstairs bars, patrons could watch the games even from either location.  All screens were enabled to show a choice of media from any switchable HD input.  The microphone system was linked to two separate wireless systems and set to play the audio feed from upstairs or downstairs.  A SONOS wireless music system was linked in, the equipment being set up so that it could also be used by the Coach for training and discussing team tactics.  This made the sessions totally interactive and much more effective.  At the same time, the use of multiple resources allowed defensive training to be taught on one projector and offensive training on the other.

The results

The club have been overjoyed with the results.  During the 6 Nations and the Rugby World Cup Games this year, they reported that the clubhouse rooms were full with visitors watching the games and loving the experience.  The SONOS music system is also going down a storm.

Overall, a fantastic result and one that the club members are delighted with.
